STAR ON GITHUB

History and status

Spec-to-ship is the first of three related projects. They now share one name, s2s. This page lists each one, what state it is in, and where to find it.

VersionBuiltWhat it isStatus
s2s v0 (spec-to-ship)Since March 2026The CLI documented on this siteWorks. Install it with Homebrew.
s2s v1 (formerly Bramo)July to August 2026A rewrite with its own orchestration enginePaused
s2s-verify (formerly bramo-verify)August 2026A verifier for agent workMaintained. Version 0.4.0 is on npm.

This is the project this site documents. s2s is a command-line tool that adds stages and approval gates to work you do with Claude Code or Codex. It installs governance files into your repository, routes each request to the stages it needs, and runs the work in isolated worktrees.

It still works, and the release pipeline keeps the Homebrew formula current. Install it with:

Terminal window
brew install kiniuncorp/s2s/s2s

The old tap, guschiriboga/homebrew-s2s, is archived. If you still have it, run brew untap guschiriboga/s2s and install from the command above.

s2s v1 was a second attempt at the same problem. v0 asks the agent to follow the process through Markdown instructions. v1 tried to enforce the process in code instead, with its own orchestration engine, an event-sourced ledger, budget limits and an executor. It was built between July and August 2026 under the name Bramo.

Development is paused. The repository is private, and there is no public release.

s2s-verify came out of v1. It is a free command-line tool that audits a git diff and reports what it observed in the code, not what the agent said it did. It is the part of v1 that people can use today, and it is maintained.

On September 30, 2026, the author moved the name Bramo to a new product, a terminal at bramo.sh. The Bramo projects and spec-to-ship work on the same problem, so the three now form one family under the s2s name. Spec-to-ship is s2s v0, the Bramo platform is s2s v1, and bramo-verify is s2s-verify. bramo.ai now redirects to bramo.sh. The code, the history and the published packages did not change.

The author wrote a post-mortem on v0 and v1. It covers what went wrong in both attempts. Read it at docs/post-mortem.md in the s2s-verify repository.
